1. Information We Collect
When you use OPINIS, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account data: Name, email address, and authentication tokens provided by Clerk (our auth provider).
- Analysis data: Text you submit for sentiment analysis (which may include feedback, communications, or support tickets containing personal data of your end-users), and the resulting scores, emotions, and keywords.
- Usage data: API call counts, timestamps, and tier-level usage metrics.
- Payment data: Billing is processed by Razorpay. We store your subscription ID and plan tier but never store credit card numbers.
2. Processing End-User Data (B2B Data Processing)
OPINIS operates as a B2B SaaS platform. When you submit text data relating to your customers, users, or employees (e.g. customer support transcripts, survey responses, product reviews):
- You act as the Data Controller and retain full ownership and responsibility for the data.
- OPINIS acts as a Data Processor, handling and processing this data strictly on your instructions to deliver analytical reports.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring you have established a lawful basis and obtained all necessary permissions/consents from your end-users to share their text data with us.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To process your sentiment analysis requests and display results.
- To enforce usage limits based on your subscription tier.
- To improve our AI models and service quality (aggregated, anonymized data only).
- To send transactional emails related to your account.
4. Data Retention
We retain your analysis data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual analyses from your history at any time. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we hold about you.
- Export: Download your data in machine-readable JSON format via Dashboard → Settings → Export Data.
- Delete: Permanently erase your account and all data via Dashboard → Settings → Delete Account.
- Rectify: Correct inaccurate personal data by contacting us.
- Object: Opt out of data processing for analytics purposes.
6. Third-Party Services
OPINIS uses the following third-party processors:
- Clerk — Authentication and user management.
- Google Gemini / Groq — AI models for sentiment analysis. Submitted text is sent to these APIs for processing.
- Razorpay — Payment processing.
- Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting.
- Upstash — Redis caching layer.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure webhook verification, rate limiting, prompt injection defense, and regularly rotated API keys. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
